Building Domestic Critical Mineral Supply Chains to Protect America's Future
Establishing a Domestic Source for Graphite, A Critical Mineral.
The US Geological Survey and the Department of Defense identify Graphite as a critical mineral because it is used in a large number of important industrial and defense applications, including brake linings, lubricants, powdered metals, refractory applications, steelmaking, and perhaps most importantly, energy storage.
